Jikei Visiting CSUDH Esports Home
On Monday, November 18, our team players and staff had the pleasure to show Jikei University from Japan, our Toro Esports Academy space on CSUDH campus. About 84 Jikei University students arrived at CSUDH from the cities of Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nagoya, and Fekuoka. These students from Japan are involved with esports at their home campuses and have come to learn how the esports program on at CSUDH operates based on our five pillars consisting of Academics & Research, Career Development, Community, Competition, and Entertainment.
Jikei and our players started off with an ice breaker getting to know each other and their culture. Jikei students interested in marketing, management, or production career attended a breakout session on esports branding and using AI they were able to create a team logo and their own mock esports team. Jikei esports players learned from our CSUDH Esports Overwatch team and competed against each other in scrims. These scrims had active CSUDH esports players paired with Jikei esports players and utilized the entire Toro Esports Academy space.
