CSUDH Esports Welcomes Jikei University for International Campus Visit
On Friday, October 3rd, 2025, CSUDH Esports players and staff welcomed Jikei University of Japan for a visit to the Toro Esports Academy on the CSUDH campus. Approximately 84 Jikei University students traveled from cities including Sapporo, Sendai, Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Kobe, Nagoya, and Fukuoka to experience how the CSUDH Esports program operates.
The visiting students, all actively involved in esports programs at their home campuses, explored CSUDH’s esports model built around five core pillars: Academics & Research, Career Development, Community, Competition, and Entertainment. The visit provided an in-depth look at how collegiate esports is structured and supported at CSUDH.
The day began with an icebreaker session that allowed students from both universities to connect, exchange cultural perspectives, and build rapport. Jikei students interested in marketing, management, and production participated in a breakout session focused on esports branding, where they utilized AI tools to design team logos and develop mock esports organizations.
Meanwhile, Jikei esports competitors worked alongside the CSUDH Esports Valorant team, participating in collaborative scrimmages throughout the Toro Esports Academy. The scrims paired CSUDH players with Jikei students, creating a shared competitive experience that fully utilized the academy space and highlighted international collaboration through esports.
