CSUDH Esports Overwatch Cardinal Head to Akron for PCL 2025 Fall Championship

Our very own CSUDH Esports Overwatch 2 Cardinal team took the spotlight at the PCL 2025 Fall Championship, through December 12th–14th in Akron, Ohio, in a highly competitive LAN environment against some of the top collegiate programs in the nation.

Hosted by the PlayVS College League, the championship event featured a double elimination format with a best of five series, testing teams’ composure across three days of competition.  Many of the matches were livestreamed on Twitch, giving the Toros an opportunity to showcase their skills to the entire world.

CSUDH opened the beginning match in Group A Round 1, going up against Alvernia University. The series was a nail-biter as the Toros were able to keep a close score against Alvernia. Unfortunately, they were unable to close out the series, losing 3-0 and dropping down to the elimination bracket.

CSUDH was able to respond in the following series, going up against Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD).  The Toros were able to pull through and win the match in a commanding fashion with a 3-0 victory.

The victory set up a rematch with Alvernia University, where CSUDH once again delivered a highly competitive series. They lost the series 3-0 to Alvernia in another close series, narrowly missing out on closing out their matches.

Representing CSUDH were Autumn, Aloka, Wickytrix, Ohprojects, and Maximus, a lineup that has been able to prove that they are one of the university’s top teams in the collegiate Esports scene.  We are proud of the effort and dedication they put into their craft throughout the Fall 2025 season.
